Board of Directors and Staff

Henry Chavez

A native Houstonian, Henry is a retired Houston Police Sergeant who served the citizens of Houston for 34 years. Throughout Henry’s accomplished career, he earned a reputation for leadership, organization, and tackling difficult projects. His various achievements include implementing one of the first decentralized and computerized Crime Analysis Units in the history of the Houston Police Department. In the twilight years of his career, he was chosen for the monumental task of overseeing the design, construction and transition of police personnel to four major police patrol stations throughout the city.

Henry is an avid photographer and historian. He is a student and specialist of the many photographic processes practiced throughout the history of photography in the United States and Europe, including tintype, ambrotype, pinhole, film, and digital photography. Henry began working with the Houston Fire Fighters Burned Children’s Fund in 2005 by volunteering his time as the photographer for the popular Fire Fighters Calendar.  In the years that followed he expanded his contributions by helping with its design, publication and distribution. In 2012 he was elected the Chairman of the Board where he continues to serve today.
